I have known several Englishmen who have done difficult jobs in difficult places. This guy was a Botanist who brought Azaleas, Rhododendrons Kumquats and most importantly Tea to England from china., Actually the tea went to India as it would not grow in England. Foreigners were not allowed outside of a few Port cities so he disguised himself as Chinese.. He put the baby plants in Wardian cases, what we call terrariums. Thousands of them..And then he wrote this very unassuming book about it in the 1830s. What a guy.!

I was looking for a readable copy of this important book but alas it's not that easy to read and of course you can't cut and past the copy if you want to use a quote from it. A little disappointed.
